Especially this nonviolent activist… Kaepernick.

Nowadays the African-American community needs a voice more than ever. Many have attempted to carry the torch of late great activists, whom lost their lives defending righteousness. However, the attempts quickly fade like a crayon stain on cloth.

Along comes Kaepernick, a talented athlete that’s not afraid to sacrifice everything to change injustice in the AACs. Though his upward journey would be met with tons of backlash, he embraced his destiny & pushed onward.

Nike recently added the activist to a new advertising campaign & as expected, many took to social media to verbalize their opinions; supporting & non-supporting. We applaud the company for taking a HUGE gamble during these times of heightened racial tension. This moment could very well be a defining one in the fight for changes to inequality.

Although we’re not sure how his story will be narrated decades from now, one thing is certain, Kaepernick is boldly shaping up to be The Modern Day Martin Luther…
