Atlanta Elects New Mayor!!!

Especially this political leader... Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Although voters did not stampede to the voting polls, the nearly 90k that did show up made this year’s Atlanta mayoral runoff race very interesting.

Newly elected mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms, squeaked out a razor thin victory over rival Mary Norwood. The back-and-forth, seesaw battle consisted of frequent lead changes that had networks unable to determine which candidate would gain advantage & keep it.

Ultimately, Bottoms’ followers amassed a comfortable margin to secure the gut wrenching win. Norwood has since demand a recount. Considering how close she was to becoming the first white mayor of Atlanta, pundits believe the city will finally elect its first non-African American mayor in the 2020 race.
